Vibe coding without chaos

vibe codingdeliveryscope

“Vibe coding” — steering an AI coding assistant by feel — is excellent for exploration. It is risky for client delivery if you never pause to lock decisions.

Keep a thin source of truth

Even on a two-week build, keep a short living note:

  • Goal in one sentence
  • In / out of scope
  • Open questions
  • Definition of done for this milestone

Update it when the vibe shifts. The document is not bureaucracy; it is a seatbelt.

Prefer vertical slices

Horizontal layers (“finish the database first”) hide product risk. Vertical slices (“user can invite a teammate”) expose it early. AI tools are especially good at filling a slice once you name it.

Review the scary parts yourself

Auth, payments, data retention, and anything that emails users deserve human attention. Let the assistant draft; you verify.

Handoff is part of the product

European clients often need someone else to maintain the work later. Clean README, env examples, and a short “how to run / deploy” note matter more than clever abstractions.

Vibe freely in private spikes. Deliver with a written scope and a calm demo. That combination is how AI-assisted coding stays professional — and how inbound projects stay sustainable without eating every evening.
